ERIE, Pa. — The Gannon University Acrobatics & Tumbling team has been ranked No. 7 in the first NCATA regular season poll, released on Wednesday, March 25.
The Golden Knights opened the season ranked No. 9 and have continued to prove themselves throughout the year. Gannon holds a 5-2 overall record and finished the home portion of its schedule undefeated at 5-0 inside the Highmark Events Center.
Gannon owns wins over nationally ranked opponents, defeating No. 9 Duquesne, No. 13 Mary Hardin-Baylor, and No. 11 Glenville State, while also delivering one of its strongest performances of the season against No. 2 Oregon.
The Golden Knights have shown steady improvement throughout the season, highlighted by a season-high score of 270.570 in a road meet at Oregon. Gannon has now posted multiple scores above 268 in recent weeks, signaling its emergence as a contender in the national landscape.
Pyramid has been a consistent strength for Gannon throughout the season, while Tumbling and the Team Event have seen significant growth as the year has progressed. The Golden Knights have improved their overall team score by more than 20 points since the season opener and have surpassed the 268 mark in back-to-back meets.
The NCATA announced that the top eight teams in the final rankings will qualify for the 2026 NCATA National Championships, hosted by Azusa Pacific in Azusa, California from April 23–26. The next set of rankings will be released on Wednesday, April 1.
Gannon returns to action on Sunday, March 29, when they take on No. 4 Fairmont State at 4:00 p.m.
