A newspaper reporter for nearly three decades, Jim Lockwood has worked since 2011 at The Times-Tribune. He is a nine-time winner of the Pennsylvania NewsMedia Association’s Public Notice Journalism Award, having won it since its inception in 2014 and each year thereafter through 2021, and again in 2023. The public notice award recognizes excellence in journalism that draws reader attention to public notices — announcements or disclosures that government entities or private parties are required by law to publish in or through a newspaper. His work stemming from public notices also earned him national awards from The Public Notice Resource Center, including first-place in 2015 and 2023, second-place in 2017 and 2020 and an honorable mention in 2018. Jim’s other journalism accolades include several Pennsylvania statewide awards for news beat, spot and breaking coverage, as well as sharing with other Times-Tribune reporters the John V.R. Bull Freedom of Information Award in 2019 for ensuring the public’s right to know.
