A boil water advisory has been issued for more than 2,300 Pennsylvania American Water customers in Hanover Twp., Sugar Notch and Warrior.

Company officials said there was a loss of positive pressure detected Friday morning in the distribution system due to a water main break. A loss of positive water pressure is a signal of the existence of conditions that could allow contamination to enter the distribution system through backflow by back pressure or back siphonage. As a result, the boil water advisory was issued.

The advisory impacts customers on the following streets

Hanover Twp.: Main Street, Hanover Street, New Commerce Boulevard, Lasley Avenue, Stewart Road, Robinson Circle, South Main Street, Tanya Drive and Clarks Cross Road.

Sugar Notch: Main Street, Broadhead Avenue, Woodland Road, Brook Street, Freed Street, Oak Street and Chestnut Street.

Warrior Run: Front Street, Orchard Street, Academy Street, Hanover Street, Jones Street, Chestnut Street, Beaumont Street and Slope Street.

Customers should bring all water to a rolling boil, let it boil for one minute, and cool before using; or use bottled water. Customers should use boiled or bottled water for drinking, making ice, washing dishes, brushing teeth and food preparation until further notice.
