BETHLEHEM, Pa. – New details, as police are searching for a New Jersey man who they say opened fire inside of a crowded Bethlehem restaurant Friday night.

The shooting happened just minutes away from the MusikFest grounds.

Police say a fight led to shots fired inside of Sizzling Bites just after midnight Friday.

18-year-old Ashton Jordan Thomas from Stewartsville is being charged with attempted homicide, aggravated assault, and reckless endangerment after police say he shot two people, a man and a woman, inside of a crowded Sizzling Bites Halal Grill in southside Bethlehem.

Surveillance video from the business shows Thomas and two of his friends arguing with a group of people outside of the restaurant.

Investigation continues into shooting that injured two at Southside Bethlehem restaurant

Just one minute later, Thomas enters the restaurant wearing a mask.

Police say a physical argument broke out between Thomas and the male victim. During the struggle Thomas allegedly took out a handgun and shot the victim in his hand and thigh. The female victim was also shot, and took bullets to her thigh and foot. About eight people were in the direct line of fire, with more than 30 patrons inside.

After shots were fired, police say Thomas and his friends fled.

Surveillance video from nearby businesses shows them running down the street and around the block, getting into a car and leaving the area.

Thomas has a warrant out for his arrest.

I spoke with the owner of Sizzling Bites, who says he was shocked when he got the call on Friday because something like this has never happened at his business. He says now on weekend nights, Sizzling Bites will be monitored by Bethlehem police.
