The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission is preparing for heavy Easter weekend travel, with more than two million drivers expected between Friday, April 3, and Monday, April 6. According to the commission, about 615,000 travelers are projected for Friday, 485,000 on Saturday, 505,000 on Sunday, and 605,000 on Monday, for a total of 2.21 million. To help keep traffic moving, all road work will be suspended beginning at 3 p.m. Thursday, April 2, through 11 p.m. Monday, April 13, so that as many lanes as possible remain open. The commission also said patrols will be increased with assistance from the Pennsylvania State Police.
