State Rep. Manuel Guzman, D-Berks, announced Tuesday $150,000 in grant funding has been awarded to the Reading Area Community College through the Pennsylvania Department of Education to support student parents pursuing higher education.
The funding will help expand programs that offer tuition assistance, emergency financial aid, and other services designed to reduce barriers for parenting students.
“Education is one of my top priorities, and I remain committed to ensuring that people across all stages of life have access to the tools they need to succeed,” Guzman said. “This funding will make a real difference for families in our community by helping student parents achieve their goals.”
Guzman noted that his district, which includes the city of Reading, continues to benefit from investments that strengthen access to affordable education.
“This is an important investment in our community’s future,” Guzman added. “When we support education, we create more opportunities for families and boost our local economy.”
