OBITUARY
June (Decker) McDonald, a longtime resident of Linwood Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Scranton and formerly of Moosic, passed away peacefully on Saturday. She was 81 years old.
Born on May 7, 1944, and raised in the Rocky Glen section of Moosic, June was the daughter of the late Adam and Violet (Heller) Decker. Educated in the former Moosic High School, she then went on to raise her family of three children.
She is survived by her daughter, Annette Wickizer; her sister, Nettie Gaughan; grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by two sons, Benson and Gerard McDonald, Jr. One of ten Decker siblings, June was also preceded in death by brothers, Oscar, Melvin, Adam and Benson Decker; and sisters, Hazel Silfee, Ruth Ann Moore, Jane Davis and Chilillie Poplawski.
Blessing services and committal by Rev. Arthur Harshman will be on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at Marcy Cemetery, Foote Ave. in Duryea, with burial to follow.
