OBITUARY

Orazio Pat Colurso, Jr., 84 of Old Forge and formerly of West Scranton, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family at Geisinger CMC on Wednesday after a brief illness.

Pat and his beloved wife Charlotte Ruhanna Colurso celebrated their 57th wedding anniversary on May 18. Born in Scranton, Pat was the son of the late Orazio and Palmina DAmico Colurso, Sr., a graduate of West Scranton HS, Class of 1959 and a proud veteran of the Army serving in Vietnam.

Pat was of the Roman Catholic faith, and his life was characterized by his faith and unabated love for his family which he adored and generously shared his joy for living.

Pat enjoyed a vast knowledge of the food service industry first working for over 26 years as a produce manager for Giant Foods and then with his wife Charlotte starting their own business serving the West Scranton and greater area from their Deli on Luzerne St. for over 38 years retiring December 31, 2020. As a pure people person Pat enjoyed his daily visit with the many varied and cherished customers helping to brighten both their days with stories of his children, grandchildren, friends and beloved New York Yankees and Giants.

Pat will always be remembered as a devoted husband, father and grandfather who was a kind man with a quick wit and smiling sense of humor. In addition to his wife Charlotte Pat leaves his loving children Kim Carpentier and her husband George, Dickson City, Carrie Colurso, Palm Beach, FL; 4 grandchildren Dylan and Lily Silverstri, Nicholas Carpentier and Noah Shafer; his sister Mary Louise McClaughry, Elmhurst and several nieces and nephews. Pat was preceded in death by his sisters Nicolina Silverman and Aida Savero and brother Gennaro Colurso.

A celebration of Pats live will be held on Tuesday at the Rescue and Restore Church, 120 Willow Ave., Olyphant, PA with services at 11 AM celebrated by Rev. Pastor Jack with Veterans Honor Guard committal services immediately following. The family will be greeting friends from 9:00 AM until the time of service at the Church. In keeping with Pats wishes cremation was selected and internment will be at the convenience of the family.
