A barge is stuck on a dam in Beaver Falls, prompting the closure of two bridges.

The City of Beaver Falls Police Department posted a warning on Facebook saying the Beaver Falls/Eastvale Bridge and the Beaver Falls/New Brighton Bridge are closed. Police said there was an “issue” on the Beaver River and “possible hazards posed to the bridge.”

PennDOT is on scene assessing the situation, police said. No other details were immediately provided. 

Video from the scene shows the barge caught up on the dam as the Beaver River rushes around it. 

Police are asking people to use an alternate route until everything is resolved. There was no timetable provided for the bridge closures.
