Nick Bohenek and Cooper Borowski of Riverside teamed up to no-hit Abington Heights, 6-0, in a nonleague baseball game Thursday night at the University of Scranton’s Volpe Field.
Bohenek went the first 6.2 innings, walking three and striking out 11. When he reached the 100-pitch limit (57 strikes), Borowski came on in relief. He walked the first batter he faced, but struck out the next to end the game and complete the no-hitter.
Jason Posluszny had two hits and scored two runs for the Vikings. Bohenek also had two hits and scored twice and Borowski drove in two runs.
Mid Valley 3, Elk Lake 0: At Mid Valley, Cooper Lukasavage fired a complete-game one-hit shutout as the Spartans blanked Elk Lake in a nonleague game.
Lukasavage did not walk a batter and struck out eight. He threw 68 pitches, 52 for strikes. The lone hit he allowed was a single by Alden Felker.
Brett Yanoski had two hits and two RBIs for Mid Valley.
Old Forge 7, West Scranton 6: At Battaglia-Cawley Field, Old Forge scored four runs in the top of the fourth inning to rally for a nonleague win over West Scranton.
Trailing, 5-3, Will Wozniak had a two-run single to tie the game. Luke Olivieri followed with a triple to score Wozniak, Jake Bartnikowski then plated Olivieri with a single to give the Blue Devils a 7-5 lead.
Olivieri finished with three hits and three RBIs. Robby Solfanelli also had three hits. Bartnikowski and Cam Krushnowski had two hits apiece.
Evan Walsh singled, doubled and had a two-run triple in the first inning for West Scranton. Mason Lesh and Colin May added two hits apiece for the Invaders and Tyler Scotch knocked in two runs.
Wallenpaupack 11, Pocono Mountain East 6: At Pocono Mountain East, Wallenpaupack overcame a five-run deficit by scoring 10 runs in its final two at-bats for a nonleague win.
Cameron Lynch had two hits, Logan Caruso doubled and C.J. Doty drove in two runs for the Buckhorns, who scored four runs in the top of the sixth to get within 6-5, then erupted for six runs in the top of the seventh. Wallenpaupack took advantage of nine walks, including seven in the final two innings.
MMI Prep 15, Mountain View 12 (9 inn.): At Schautz Stadium in Dunmore, MMI Prep scored three runs in the top of the ninth inning to outlast Mountain View in a nonleague game.
Caleb Skuba has three hits, including a home run, for the Preppers. Ben Gombeda also homered.
Jordan Jagger led Mountain View with three hits, one of which was a home run, and four RBIs. Jagger also started for the Eagles and struck out 14. Nick Beach added two hits and three RBIs.
MMI Prep scored three runs in the top of the sixth to tie the game at 8, then plated four runs in the top of the eighth inning to take a 12-8 lead. But Mountain View answered with four runs in the bottom of the eighth.
