They are all the rage, it’s a NeeDoh craze!

The squishy, plastic toys come in all shapes and colors, and kids and teens want to get their hands as on as many as they can.

They’d make a great Easter basket filler, if you can get your hands on one. Grandpa Joe’s Candy Store has been sold out at all of its locations for months.

“Every kid wants them. They come in and ask. Everybody wants NeeDohs,” said Jasmine Grimsley, store manager of Grandpa Joe’s in Emmaus.

Grimsley said the NeeDoh craze started in January at the store. They, like all the big box stores, can’t keep up with the demand. Online and in stores, they are sold out everywhere.

“Every day we get probably 10 to 15 calls a day,” said Grimsley. “We probably get 20 people asking if we have NeeDohs.”

So what is the big attraction that’s got kids trying to collect as many as possible?

“It just helps a lot of the kids with keeping themselves busy, to stay kind of alert,” said Grimsley.

They are basically cool looking stress balls, but there’s plenty of “squishies” out there.

Fifth grader Cash Boyle said, “It’s because it’s all over social media, all the social media platforms.”

There is certainly no shortage of NeeDoh posts, but a shortage of NeeDohs.

“We haven’t gotten one in since January because NeeDoh is so far behind on their orders,” said Grimsley.

Their “hard to find” status is only making them even more attractive.
