Frank R. Froese, 72 of Dunmore, died April 1st at Geisinger Community Medical Center Scranton after having waged a fierce and relentless battle with cancer. His widow is Kathryn “Kathy” Park Froese. He was a graduate of Dunmore High School Class of 1972.

Born in Scranton, he was the son of the late Frank and the late Joan Derrig Froese. He was an Army Veteran and served in the Military Police Corps at Fort Dix New Jersey and Fort Lee Virginia prior to being honorably discharged in 1975.

Frank had been employed by RCA/Thompson Consumer Electronics for 29 years. Frank and Kathy then purchased “Kuzzins Cafe” Dunmore in 2004, from which he inspired a family of their patrons. Kuzzins truly became a friendly home away from home and a place where everyone knew your name. Frank was always there with a calm steady hand when chaos reigned, his advice and input was sought and valued by many. He was affectionately known as “The Peace Maker”, as he settled issues and problems with ease and common sense. Frank would also be the first to offer help to those in need and often held fundraisers and social events to benefit those worthy causes. Frank truly was committed to the Dunmore community and the people within it. There is no doubt that the void created by his passing will be felt by many and will never be filled.

Frank was an avid sports fan and followed his favorite teams, the Philadelphia Phillies and the Philadelphia Eagles religiously. He was also an avid golfer, hunter and fisherman and greatly enjoyed the great outdoors.
