SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — It’s a hands-off, aquatic Easter Egg Hunt capturing the hearts of many. The Egg Hunt Under the Sea was held at the Marketplace at Steamtown on Sunday.
For just a small price, people were able to wander around the aquarium, searching for numbered easter eggs hidden in the exhibits! If you had a keen eye at the event, you might have spotted some eggs.
After the hunt, scavengers who managed to spot the hidden eggs could cash in their papers for a treat or a prize at the gift shop.

After six years of hosting the event, even the keepers at the aquarium have a tough time finding where they put the eggs.
“If somebody is having a hard time, we will kind of go to the area and give them a hint, but sometimes we to look for them ourselves. Even the keepers are again because the animals do move them around,” Electric City Aquarium and Reptile Den Director of Operations Christina Rogato explained.
Event organizers told 28/22 News that kids of all ages get in on the action, stating they have even seen parents get more excited for the hunt than the kids.
