UPPER MACUNGIE TWP., Pa. – A crash involving a tractor‑trailer and a motorcycle shut down part of I‑78 Monday afternoon.
Pennsylvania State Police say the collision happened just after 2:30 p.m. on I‑78 East near mile marker 315.2 in Upper Macungie Township.

The motorcyclist was taken to a nearby hospital, according to police. The extent of the rider’s injuries is not yet known.
Troopers say the left lane remains closed and is expected to stay that way for some time, causing significant backups in the area.
