Jeff Bekos of Doylestown, Bucks County, is biking to every Ronald McDonald House location in the U.S. to raise awareness for the charity that supports families with children undergoing medical treatment.6,000-mile journeyBekos began his 6,000-mile journey in February in Albuquerque, New Mexico. According to his schedule, he stopped at the Ronald McDonald House in Sacramento on Tuesday and arrived at the one in Reno, Nevada, on Friday.”It’s a community that provides love and support and energy to help you fight another day when your child is sick,” Bekos said.The Ronald McDonald Houses provide a place for families to stay near their hospitalized child for little to no cost.Bekos founded a charity, “One Dad’s Mission,” to raise awareness about the Ronald McDonald Houses.Bekos will complete the first leg of his eventual three-part journey, ending in Iowa City in June.
