ALLENTOWN, Pa. – A new eatery is spicing up the Lehigh Valley’s dining scene.

The first Lehigh Valley location of Equis Pica Pollo, a fast-casual concept specializing in Dominican fried chicken, opened Saturday at 513 N. Seventh St. in Allentown, a manager said.

To celebrate its opening, the restaurant is offering a free piece of fried chicken to all guests this weekend.

Around 20 Equis Pica Pollo locations operate throughout the Northeast, including several restaurants in New York City and other locations in New Jersey, Massachusetts, Rhode Island and Pennsylvania.

The Allentown restaurant is operated by franchise owner Silvia Casado, who also runs locations in West Hazleton, Luzerne County, and Elizabeth, New Jersey.

The Allentown eatery, with seating for around 15 guests at low-top tables and a high-top counter, offers Dominican fried chicken along with sides such as tostones, sweet plantains, fries and rice.

Chofan, a Dominican-style fried rice dish with chicken, ham and vegetables, also is available.

Customers can choose from various fried chicken combos, featuring a choice of one side, including two pieces ($8), three pieces ($12), four pieces ($15), five pieces ($18), six pieces ($22) and seven pieces ($25).

Larger quantity fried chicken combos, including 12 pieces and a side for $38, are also available.

The Allentown restaurant, which also offers natural fruit juices, is open 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday through Thursday and 10 a.m. to 3 a.m. Friday through Sunday.

Takeout service is available, and delivery through UberEats and other third-party delivery platforms is coming soon, the manager said.
