UPMC Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh is expanding its reach into Erie by opening an outpatient therapy center.
The Pittsburgh-based hospital is opening UPMC Children’s Rehabilitation Therapies in Erie, 3580 Peach St. Starting April 13, the center will provide children with physical therapy, occupational therapy and speech therapy.
“Children have unique needs and treating a child is different than treating an adult,” said Diane Hupp, Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh president. “As pediatric providers and therapists, we take a lot of pride in how we treat our patients.”
Children’s Hospital currently provides therapy and rehabilitation services at several Pittsburgh-area locations but, until now, the closest ones to Erie were in New Castle and Wexford.
The therapy center is the latest in a series of new clinics and offices Children’s Hospital has opened in Erie since 2014. They include:
UPMC Children’s Pediatric Orthopaedics in Erie, 300 State St. Opened in March.UPMC Children’s Specialty Care Center — Erie, 3580 Peach St. Opened in May 2025.UPMC Children’s pediatric inpatient unit at UPMC Hamot, 118 E. Second St. Opened in 2023.UPMC Children’s Specialty Care Center — Erie, 118 E. Second St. Opened in 2015.UPMC Children’s Express Care — Erie, 3330 Peach St. Opened in 2014.
The new pediatric therapy office is located next to one of the Children’s Specialty Care Centers, which Hupp said makes it convenient for families to access multiple medical services in one visit.
“Our goal is to have more of Children’s services available in Erie, so families don’t have to make as many trips down to Pittsburgh for their child’s care,” Hupp said.
The Erie center will provide evaluation and treatment for developmental delays, injuries, neurological conditions and other medical diagnoses.
