DUNMORE, LACKAWANNA COUNTY (WBRE/WYOU) — There was some Bingo with a Halloween twist on Sunday. Participants showed up at the Greater Scranton YMCA for what was billed as Jack and Jill Bingo. Some even dressed the part to play in some of the 18 bingo games offered.

The event also featured food vendors, raffles, and a 50/50 drawing.

Proceeds support the Greater Scranton YMCA’s early learning scholarship program.

“We think that all children should have an early education start even if parents are not able to afford to send their child to care,” Greater Scranton YMCA Senior Education Director Tressa Capoccia explained.

“This is where I work out. This is also where I work. This is where I volunteer. This is the greatest place where there is a whole community that comes together, whether it’s young or aged individuals like me, and they do a variety of activities,” YMCA Worker, Volunteer, and Bingo Participant Kathy Platt said.

This marked the inaugural Jack and Jill bingo at the YMCA in Dunmore.
