Pennsylvania Secretary Al Schmidt honored 100 Lebanon County residents this week for voting in every November election for at least 50 consecutive years during a ceremony in Lebanon City. Schmidt praised the inductees for their dedication to democracy, saying, “You persevered through all of this, and made exercising your right to vote a top priority. All of you being honored here today value the future of our commonwealth and our nation. Enough to show up to vote every single time.””We have far too many people in this country that feel like we have elections every four years, but we don’t. We have elections every year, and every year those elections matter. And so, it’s certainly just amazing that we have the opportunity to celebrate people that have been committed to that process,” Sen. Chris Gebhard said. Four residents were also recognized for voting in 70 or more consecutive elections. Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame The 100 residents are now part of the Pennsylvania Voter Hall of Fame, a program established by the Department of State in 1986 to recognize voters who have participated in 50 consecutive November elections.The Hall of Fame includes more than 25,000 voters statewide who have been inducted over the last four decades.

Pennsylvania Secretary Al Schmidt honored 100 Lebanon County residents this week for voting in every November election for at least 50 consecutive years during a ceremony in Lebanon City.

Schmidt praised the inductees for their dedication to democracy, saying, “You persevered through all of this, and made exercising your right to vote a top priority. All of you being honored here today value the future of our commonwealth and our nation. Enough to show up to vote every single time.”
