OBITUARY

Jean M. Kishel, 81, of Olyphant, died Tuesday evening, April 7, 2026, at Allied Hospice, Scranton. She was preceded in death by her husband Edmund S. Kishel Sr., who died May 27th, 2009.

Born in Peckville, Jean was the daughter of the late Vincent and Genevieve McNulty Conway. She was a graduate of Archbald High School and Lackawanna College and was a member of St. Carlo Acutis Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant. Prior to retirement, Jean worked for Supermarket Service.

Jean was a great wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and sister who truly cherished the time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was nana to all. She also enjoyed gambling, from scratch-off lottery tickets to trips to the casino.

Jean is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Chmielewski and husband John; her sons, Jeff, Edmund Jr. and wife Maria, and Andrew and wife Kristin; her grandchildren, Kyle Kishel and wife Karisa, Damien, Larissa, and Jordan Chmielewski, and Harper Kishel; her two great-grandchildren, Kolson and Koralynn; nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Marilyn, Cathrine, Joseph, and Ruth.

Jean’s funeral will Saturday, April 11th, 2026, at 9am from the Frank T. Mazur Funeral Home, Inc., 601 Dundaff St., Dickson City, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:30am at St. Carlo Acutis Parish at St. Patrick’s Church, Olyphant.
