Two adults were taken into custody after a gun was flashed toward children in a North Side neighborhood Friday, according to Pittsburgh Public Safety.The incident happened around 2:45 p.m. on Montgomery Place in the Allegheny Center neighborhood.”Preliminary information indicates that two adults were walking past a school playground when one of them flashed the weapon toward the children before continuing on foot,” public safety officials said in a statement.No shots were fired. A school security guard provided a description, and police took a man and a woman into custody.According to a statement from Pittsburgh Public Schools, the incident involved a student at Pittsburgh King PreK-8, and the two people were trying to take a district-issued bike.”At the time, the student was outside with a group of students riding bikes under adult supervision. A staff member quickly intervened, prompting the individuals to flee,” PPS said in the statement. “As a precaution, all students were immediately brought inside the building, and the school was placed in Secure while the situation was investigated. The student was not harmed.”Police said charges would be filed. The names of the people taken into custody have not yet been released. This is a developing story.
