EASTON, Pa. – In Easton, Starbucks baristas and their supporters rallied this afternoon, joining a national movement demanding a fair labor contract.
The group gathered outside the store on Easton Nazareth Highway, calling for better pay, improved staffing, and more consistent hours.
The event comes as union baristas across the country vote on whether to authorize a strike if Starbucks continues to stall contract talks.
Workers say the company’s refusal to negotiate fairly leaves them overworked and underpaid.
“We’re fed up and we’re done waiting. Our movement has been growing and we’re ready to show Starbucks that we’re serious, we mean business and it’s time to settle this contract,” said Audrina Clewell.
Similar rallies are being held in cities across Pennsylvania and the nation as the union pushes for change ahead of Starbucks’ busy holiday season.
