Repairs moving along, no opening date set for South Erie Post Office

Progress is being made at a local post office that has been closed for repairs since the fall.

The South Erie Post Office on Poplar Street closed at the end of last October, forwarding mail services to the Presque Isle Post Office on Legion Road.

While the United States Postal Service said roof repairs are complete, they are awaiting a roof inspection and contractor proposals for interior damage.

A specific reopening date and timeline have not yet been determined.
