ALLENTOWN, Pa. – Allentown police say a man is facing charges after a shooting Monday afternoon near 4th and Washington Streets.

According to a press release from the police, around 1:15 p.m. officers were called to the area after several gunshots were reported. When patrol units arrived, they found spent shell casings in the 400 block of Washington Street.

Investigators say a single suspect fired at a vehicle passing through the neighborhood. No one inside the vehicle was hit, and police say there is no evidence that anyone was injured.

The suspect ran into a nearby home but was taken into custody shortly afterward. Officers say they also recovered the firearm used in the shooting inside the residence.

Police identified the suspect as 24‑year‑old Raymond Manuel Cruz of Allentown. He is charged with carrying a concealed firearm without a license and recklessly endangering another person, according to the release.

The investigation is ongoing.
