Folcroft police have charged a Philadelphia man with possession of a gun stolen in Chester after he allegedly made threats to a borough woman.
On April 5, police charged Tyler M. Junod, 31 of the 9800 block of Wistaria Street with carrying a firearm without a permit, receiving stolen property and drug paraphernalia charges after police were called about threats.
According to the criminal complaint by Cpl. Thomas Kesser:
Units were called on Easter Sunday about 12:30 p.m. to the 1000 block of Taylor Drive for the report of threats.
The victim told police Junod had been harassing her and threatened to shoot her child’s father. He had pulled out guns in the past however no gun was seen at that time, according to the victim.
Police saw Junod’s 2013 white Dodge Charger and stopped it in the area of Clifton and Ash streets. After receiving permission to search the vehicle, police found marijuana and drug paraphernalia on the console and in the trunk a Taurus 9 mm firearm with extended magazine.
A government database search revealed the Taurus has been reported as stolen in Chester. There was no time frame given for when the firearm was reported stolen.
A search warrant was completed for DNA on Junod, which will be compared to a DNA sample taken from the firearm, police said.
Junod was arraigned before District Judge Shepard Garner, with set bail at 10 percent of $100,000 which Junod posted. Junod is scheduled to appear April 14 for a preliminary hearing before District Judge Steven A. Sandone.
