WEST CHESTER, Pa. – A graduate of Parkland High School in Lehigh County has died after being hit by a car.
It happened early Sunday morning near the campus of West Chester University, where he was a student.
On Sunday at approximately 1:30 a.m., West Chester Police units were dispatched to the 300 block of South High Street for a motor vehicle crash involving a pedestrian, according to a press release from the police.
The pedestrian, later identified by the Chester County Coroner as Garrett Nicholas, was struck by a vehicle travelling on South High Street. Nicholas was transported by to a local hospital but succumbed to his injuries several hours later at the hospital.
Social media posts from family show he was a 2023 graduate of Parkland.
The car involved and the driver/occupant(s) of the vehicle have been identified, according to police.
