The city of Erie has a packed lineup of community-focused events set for this summer.
On April 14, City officials revealed the official summer 2026 events. The events include CelebrateErie, the Sounds of Summer, the return of the U.S. Brig Niagara and more.
The entertainment and community-based events are designed to bring residents together for the summer.

Erie participates in America250PA
In addition to all the city-led events, Erie will be participating in America250PA programs marking the 250th birthday of America.
Officials highlighted the America250PA events coming to Erie, including a free concert announced by Governor Josh Shapiro on April 9, the return of fireworks on July 3, projects for kids and an Erie Philharmonic concert at Bayview Park.
During the America250PA celebration, the city will partner with the Erie Philharmonic, expERIEnce Children’s Museum, Erie Playhouse, Erie SeaWolves, Hagen History Center, Erie Port Authority, VisitErie, Erie Zoo and Erie Events.
CelebrateErie 2026
From Aug. 14-16, Erie will be hosting its free three-day festival that showcases all things Erie.
The event, formerly known as We Love Erie Days, was launched in 1976 by Mayor Lou Tullio. It was renamed CelebrateErie in 2018.
Additional details, including music headliners, for CelebrateErie will be released on May 14.
The Sounds of Summer in Erie
The Sounds of Summer will feature local music at senior living communities throughout Erie. The band details will also be announced on May 14.
The locations and dates are as follows:
July 6: Erie VA Medical Center at 135 E. 38th St.
July 13: Mercy Terrace Apartments at 430 E. Grandview Blvd
July 20: J. Leonard Ostro Apartments at 4220 Davison Avenue
July 27: PA Soldier’s and Sailor’s Home at 560 E. Third St.
Aug. 3: Parkside Regency at South Shore: 322 Washington Place
Aug. 10: Curry Schell Apartments at 3909 Schaper Avenue
The Brig Niagara returns to port
After undergoing a $5 million restoration in Maine, the U.S. Brig Niagara returns to Erie on July 2.
The restoration included new engines installed and repairs to the hull, framing and decking.
A grand parade of vessels will be at Lake Erie to welcome the ship back as it turns into Presque Isle Bay.
