(WJET/WFXP)– Erie County is under a severe thunderstorm warning until 4 pm, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS said a severe thunderstorm was located near Waterford, moving east at 30 mph, just after 3 pm on Tuesday, with wind gusts up to 60 mph and quarter-size hail possible.
Erie, Corry, Edinboro, Union City, Girard, Waterford, Wattsburg, Northwest Harborcreek, Wesleyville, Lake City, Platea, Mill Village, McKean, Elgin, and Avonia were all listed as impacted locations before the storm makes its way into Chautauqua County, New York and beyond.
The NWS advised moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building for protection.
