READING, Pa. – A Reading man charged in a shocking 2025 triple homicide has admitted to committing the brutal crimes.
Jose Rodriguez pleaded guilty Tuesday afternoon in the shooting deaths of Geraldina Peguero-Mancebo and Junior Cabrera-Colon and the drowning death of one-year-old Jeyden Junior Peguero.
During the early morning hours of September 13, 2025, officers from Reading Police Department discovered a body, later identified as Cabrera-Colon, in the area of Clinton Street and River Road.
On the evening of Friday, September 19, Peguero-Mancebo’s body was discovered in a grassy field off of East Huller Lane in Ontelaunee Township. Investigators tracked her to the location by her cell phone.
The next day, the body of Jeyden Junior Peguero was found in a marshy area approximately 150 yards west of where his mother’s body was located the previous day.

Through the investigation, detectives determined Rodriguez drove Peguero-Mancebo to Huller Lane with the intention of killing her. He allegedly shot her in the back of the head at the location before disposing of her body.
Berks County District Attorney John Adams said Rodriguez then took one-year-old Jeyden down the road and threw the boy into a nearby pond. The child was still alive when he was thrown into the water and died as a result of freshwater drowning.
Peguero-Mancebo and Cabrera-Colon died from gunshot wounds to the head.
Rodriguez was sentenced to three consecutive life terms upon entering his plea Tuesday.
