The crowned frog leaps from the west coast to a second home in Pennsylvania, as a new brand licensing agreement between Little Prince of Oregon Nursery and Peace Tree Farm begins.
For nearly 30 years, the recognizable Little Prince of Oregon Nursery frog-prince logo has adorned high-quality, innovative, hard-to-find ornamental plant varieties grown for garden centers, wholesale growers, landscape designers, and botanical gardens across the United States. Customers will continue to delight in the tried-and-true, niche product lines with witty names, such as Lords of the Fly (carnivorous plants), Fit for a King (rare and unusual plants), and Foot Prince (ground covers that tolerate foot traffic), with a major perk: the new licensing agreement improves nation-wide delivery for customers, while also reducing shipping costs.

“We’re thrilled that our crowned frog found a home away from home,” says Mark Leichty, Director of Business Development for Little Prince of Oregon Nursery. “We chose Lloyd, Candy, and Alex Traven of Peace Tree Farm to nurture and grow our brand, because they hold the same high standards for innovation, high-quality production, and service as we do.”
While ornamental horticulture customers clamor for Little Prince of Oregon’s unique products, the distance and high cost of shipping presented challenges across a nationwide distribution area for the nursery.
“By partnering the team at Peace Tree Farm with the Little Prince of Oregon brand, we’re operating on both coasts of the U.S., providing our customers with more options to reduce their shipping costs and improve delivery time for their orders,” says Ketch de Kanter, founder and CEO of Little Prince of Oregon Nursery. “We’re delighted to license our brand to such a well-respected company with our same values of delivering the healthiest, bona fide plants to industry customers.”
Independent Garden Centers can purchase Little Prince plants directly from Peace Tree Farm in Kintnersville, Pennsylvania, reducing the high freight cost of shipping plants across the country.
“We’re delighted that the folks at Little Prince of Oregon Nursery entrust us with their brand,” says Lloyd Traven, co-owner of Peace Tree Farm. “We’re ready to welcome the frog prince to his East Coast home and look forward to growing the gorgeous plants for which Little Prince is known.”
