Eddie, the fourteen year old cat, who got lost in a hotel wall while his owner was traveling from New York to Texas is on his way to be reunited with his owner.
Brian Carroll, a Humane Police Officer, with the Erie Humane Society left on Monday morning to start the trip to Texas. Carroll said he plans to make it to Cincinnati on Monday night, Memphis on Tuesday, and Houston on Wednesday. Carroll said he was blown away by the rapid response from the community to help get Eddie reunited with his owner Erick.
According to Carroll “It’s awesome to see the community support so quickly. I think we were live for three and a half to four hours when we hit our goal and we have since exceeded our goal so any of the money that is over what we are going to spend for this trip is going to go for the care of the animals, for the cats, for food, litter.”
Carroll said he is looking forward to seeing Eddie and Erick get reunited on Wednesday.
He plans to listen to music and podcasts and bond with Eddie on the 22 hour trip.
Erie News Now will be checking in with them through the week on their journey.
