Tonight, Millcreek police are warning residents to be on alert after reports of a man going door-to-door, in some cases trying to open front doors.
Neighbors in this Millcreek Township area say a man has been showing up at homes, knocking and pounding, opening screen doors, and in some cases trying to turn doorknobs — even when families are inside.
Residents describe him as a white, middle-aged man with shoulder-length curly hair and a beard. He was last seen wearing a white baseball hat, a light gray hoodie, and black pants.
Neighbors say he may be posing as a solar panel salesman but does not have proof or business cards.
The most recent location where residents reported seeing the man was around West 24th and Homer Avenue, as well as James Avenue.
While police cannot provide additional details due to the investigation being active, they say residents should always call the dispatch line if a similar incident occurs.
“We encourage the public, if there is a similar incident, to call us at our main dispatch number. We will investigate every incident fully,” said a Millcreek police officer.

Officers say the best thing you can do is trust your instincts, keep doors locked, and never hesitate to call 911 if you feel threatened.
