Penguins set to face off against Flyers in Pittsburgh for Game 1 on Saturday
HEY WE’RE GOING TO TALK PIRATES STEELERS AND PENGUINS. LET’S START ON THE ICE. TIM. THE PENGUINS HAVE HOME ICE FOR ROUND NUMBER ONE. LOOKING LIKE THEY’LL PLAY THE FLIERS IN THE FIRST ROUND. MY QUESTION TO YOU IS WHAT DO YOU THINK OF THAT MATCHUP IF IT DOES MATERIALIZE I’M NOT AFRAID OF IT. I THINK PEOPLE LOOK AT THE LOGO AND JUST SEE ORANGE AND BLACK AND THINK, WORST CASE SCENARIO. BUT THERE’S NO REASON TO THINK THAT THE PENGUINS GETTING BACK INTO THE PLAYOFFS FOR THE FIRST TIME IN THREE YEARS ARE ANY LESS WELL EQUIPPED TO DO SO THAN THE FLIERS, HAVING DONE IT FOR THE FIRST TIME SINCE WHAT THE BUBBLE DURING COVID. SO I’M NOT PUT OFF BY IT. IN FACT, I’D RATHER SEE THEM THAN SAY THE ISLANDERS EVEN. AND THAT’S NOT TO SAY THAT THE FLIERS ARE A LESSER TEAM THAN NEW YORK. I KIND OF THINK AT THIS POINT THE FLIERS ARE A BETTER TEAM. BUT I DO NOTE THE ISLANDERS HAVE A BETTER GOALIE. AND IF WE’RE TALKING ABOUT LOGOS TO BE AFRAID OF WHEN IT COMES TO POSTSEASON HOCKEY IN PITTSBURGH, I’M MUCH MORE AFRAID OF THAT ISLANDER LOGO THAN I AM. THE FLIERS LOGO. SO IF I SAY FLIERS, PENGUINS ROUND ONE, I THINK EVERYBODY ELSE OUT THERE SHOULD SAY WELCOME IT, BRING IT ON, BSE IT’D BE FUN. IT’D BE A GREAT RE-IMME
