WEST READING, Pa. — It was a busy afternoon along Penn Avenue in West Reading with warm weather bringing people out and into local businesses.
“We actually have this dining area out here; we also have a nice dining area outside of Winnie as well. We want people to not only enjoy the atmosphere here in West Reading, but to obviously enjoy our food as well,” said Alex Alfaro of West Brew Izakaya.
From bubble tea, to desserts, to outdoor seating.
At places like West Brew Izakaya and restaurants nearby, owners say days like this bring a big boost.
“It definitely provides a nice boost in sales, when the weather starts changing, it not only brightens up the mood, but makes people want to go outside, and enjoy the businesses,” Alfaro said.
And across Berks County, everyone is taking full advantage of the heat, with softball in Bern Township.
“We’re wearing sweatshirts and today most of the guys and gals are wearing shorts and sleeveless shirts. So, it’s a good hot summer day for a game of ball,” said Sean Moretti.
And at Blue Marsh Lake, boaters are getting an early start to the season.
“Looking forward to getting out here. It’s a nice day. It’s not really windy, not choppy. It’s very nice,” said Gary Robinson of Quakertown.
