Police released surveillance video and images Thursday in an attempt to identify a man who shot and killed another man earlier this month inside a University City convenience store.

The killing happened just before 4:45 p.m. on Monday, April 6, at a shop on Market Street, near 40th Street, according to authorities. Savion J. Pollard, 26, was fatally shot by the suspect during an argument inside the business, investigators said.

In the footage, the killer is shown pointing a gun as he holds open the store’s door. He fires a shot, lets the door close and rides away on a motorized scooter. Detectives said he was last spotted on the 4100 block of Aspen Street.

Authorities described the suspect as a Black man in his 40s with a thin build and mustache. At the time of the murder, he was wearing a black Guess hooded jacket, distressed blue jeans, black Nike Air Max Goadomes boots and white headphones, law enforcement officials added. He is known to hang out in the area of 40th and Market, according to the PPD.

Anyone with information is asked to contact the Homicide Unit at 215-686-3334/3335 or call or text the police tip line at 215-686-TIPS (8477).
