Students at Bethlehem Central High School have launched a fundraising effort to overhaul the garden courtyard at the high school, dedicating it to the late Madame Michèle Atallah, a beloved French teacher who passed away last fall. The courtyard, which is adjacent to the Counseling Center at the school, would be opened for student use.
The project was initiated by students from BCHS’s Peer Helpers Club, Environmental Club, and Student Senate. They are now seeking community support to honor Atallah’s impact on the school community through a renovated courtyard and commemorative bench.
Alumni, parents, students, staff, and community residents have two ways to donate:
Online via MySchoolBucks; or
Via check
Checks can be made out to Bethlehem HS ECA with “BCHS Student Senate” in the memo line
If donating by check, please mail to Bethlehem Central High School, 700 Delaware Ave, Delmar, NY 12054
Contributions will help fund the courtyard dedication and the bench in Madame Atallah’s honor. If donations exceed the funds necessary to complete the project, the excess will be used for the already-established Mme. Atallah Global Citizen Awards Scholarship.
The students plan to hold a dedication ceremony once the courtyard renovations are complete.
