Crews were dispatched shortly after 10 a.m. to the home at North Carroll Street and Gregg Avenue for reports of smoke in the 2 ½-story building. At the time, it was believed some residents may be trapped.

A short time later, firefighters reported fire on the upper floor, with all residents accounted for. Smoke was pushing through all four eves, they said.

A second alarm was struck to draw more manpower.

An American Red Cross team was requested to assist the displaced residents.

The home is almost directly across Carroll Street from Pagoda City Brewhouse Taproom & Lounge.
