With the NFL Draft approaching, a Pittsburgh distillery on the South Shore is gearing up for a busy week, anticipating a big increase in business during the three-day event.”My partners and I decided that it would be the wise move to make to increase the size of the structure, take advantage of these tremendous views we have on this side of the river, and turn it into a true entertainment complex,” Tony Mazzarini said. The Distillery Complex is a six-floor entertainment complex housed in a 170-year-old building on South 2nd Street. It opened last summer and features spectacular views.”We opened with high hopes and expectations. We did our math and put our pro formas together, but you just never know in a new business,” Mazzarini said. The distillery faced challenges during its first winter due to harsh weather, which kept people indoors. “We had a very bad winter in Pittsburgh last year, so the weather didn’t help, and people shuttered down for a while, so the draft coming to Pittsburgh this time of year is super exciting for us,” Mazzarini said. Draft week has brought new opportunities for the distillery, which is hosting events and gatherings on nearly every floor almost every night. “We’ll also be hosting the Dan Patrick Show live broadcast from here Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. That’s very exciting,” Mazzarini said. The financial impact of draft week is expected to be substantial. “I would be guessing right now, but I would say we probably will do a month’s worth of business in a week, if not more,” Mazzarini said. The distillery’s owner believes other local businesses can also benefit from the influx of visitors during draft week. “People were looking for space, and looking for something different, which we had to offer. But everybody’s business is unique in this town. I love the city for that reason. And I would just say, make sure you’re staffed up, you’re excited for people to walk through your door, welcome them and have fun,” Mazzarini said. The distillery has used partnerships to promote its offerings to NFL cities within a six-hour drive of Pittsburgh, helping to attract new business for the Draft.

PITTSBURGH —

With the NFL Draft approaching, a Pittsburgh distillery on the South Shore is gearing up for a busy week, anticipating a big increase in business during the three-day event.

“My partners and I decided that it would be the wise move to make to increase the size of the structure, take advantage of these tremendous views we have on this side of the river, and turn it into a true entertainment complex,” Tony Mazzarini said.

The Distillery Complex is a six-floor entertainment complex housed in a 170-year-old building on South 2nd Street. It opened last summer and features spectacular views.
