SCRANTON, LACKWANNA CO. (WOLF) — A joint investigation into drug activity in Scranton has led to the seizure of several pounds of cocaine, according to city police.

Officials say the Scranton Police Department’s Street Crimes Unit worked alongside the Pennsylvania Attorney General’s Bureau of Narcotics Investigation over the past several weeks to target a suspected cocaine distribution operation in the area.

As a result of the operation, investigators recovered about three kilograms—roughly six pounds—of cocaine.

The street value of the cocaine could be more than $250,000.

Police say the investigation is ongoing, and additional information will be released as it becomes available.

Charges are expected to be filed.
