ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The city of Allentown has announced updated traffic restrictions as part of the first phase of the Center Square Redesign Project. 

Officials say that lane restrictions and closures will take place in five phases for work on the Center Square waterline at 7th and Hamilton streets.

To accommodate upcoming community events, including the Halloween Parade and Election Day, the construction schedule has been adjusted. The revised traffic plan is as follows: 

October 23–31: No left turn onto Hamilton Street from southbound 7th StreetOctober 31–November 5: No construction activity to allow for Halloween and Election Day eventsNovember 5–6: Lane restrictions onlyNovember 6–7: No right turn onto 7th Street from eastbound Hamilton StreetNovember 7–14: Lane restrictions only

Motorists are advised to plan ahead and exercise caution when traveling through the area during this time.

The Center Square Redesign Project is anticipated to be completed by the end of 2026, according to city officials.
