Erie Insurance announced plans on Thursday, April 16, 2026, to relocate several hundred employees to its Westport facility in Millcreek Township. The transition, which includes customer service and various other departments, is scheduled to begin in phases during early June.
The relocation strategy involves moving staff from several existing company locations. While a significant portion of the workforce will head to the Millcreek Township site, a company representative confirmed that other employees will be transferred to the downtown Erie office.
According to Erie Insurance officials, the West 23rd Street location in the same plaza as Wegmans will serve as the primary hub for the arriving teams. The company aims to consolidate functions that were previously spread across multiple separate offices.

Management stated that the reorganization is designed to enhance support for both staff and policyholders. Internal coordination and professional development are expected to improve through the centralized workspace.
Erie Insurance indicated the move serves as a measure to foster better collaboration and streamlined training among the affected departments. The phased migration of various business functions is expected to continue throughout the start of the summer season.
