A loaded gun was seized from a passenger’s carry-on bag at Pittsburgh International Airport Monday morning.The Allegheny County Police Department said the handgun was found in the bag at the main security checkpoint around 5:36 a.m. by Transportation Security Administration officers. Those officers alerted Allegheny County police, who then responded. According to police, the gun belonged to 43-year-old Garrett Beattie of Cranberry Township. Beattie allegedly did not have a valid concealed carry permit and was charged with carrying a firearm without a license.Police also notified the FBI. Passengers can face up to $10,000 in fines for bringing a gun into an airport security checkpoint. Repeat offenders could be fined up to $13,910.
