ALSACE TWP., Pa. – An Alsace Township man has died after being struck by a falling tree branch.
It happened around 12:30 p.m. Saturday at a house in the 000 block of Wanshop Road, Alsace Twp.
The man, identified as 76-year-old Sherwood Brubaker, was in the process cutting down a tree when a branch broke off near the top and struck him, officials say.
Brubaker was pronounced dead at Reading Hospital about an hour later.
Authorities say he died of blunt force trauma to the head and the manner of death has been ruled accidental.
