ALLENTOWN, Pa. – The Allentown Health Bureau is expanding the number of flu vaccination clinics it is offering this month.
The clinics are in addition to the bureau’s weekly Friday clinics at Alliance Hall, 245 N. 6th Street, from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
Flu shots are available to individuals ages six months and older, with no insurance or residency requirements, the bureau said in a news release Monday.

The bureau says the clinics are open to everyone.

Bucky Boyle Park (6th Ward): Thursday, October 24 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Mack Pool (South Side): Monday, October 27 | 3:00 PM – 5:00 PM
Cedar Beach Pool (West End): Thursday, October 30 | 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM
Alliance Hall (245 N. 6th Street): Every Friday During Flu Season | 1:30 PM – 3:30 PM
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) recommends that everyone six months and older receive a flu vaccine every year.

The bureau says vaccination remains the most effective way to prevent seasonal flu and reduce the risk of severe complications, hospitalizations, and missed school or workdays.
According to the bureau, getting vaccinated each year helps:
Protect you and those around you from serious illness
Reduce the spread of flu in the community
Lessen strain on hospitals and healthcare systems during respiratory virus season
