Barry Harwick
OBITUARY
Barry Harwick, 83, of Roaring Brook Twp. and Ocean City, Md, passed away peacefully on Sunday, April 19, 2026 at Hospice of the Sacred Heart inpatient unit in Dunmore. The husband of the former Marie (Gilbride), the couple celebrated 56 years of marriage.
Born in Allentown, he was the son of the late Frederick and Avis (Gourley) Harwick. Barry graduated from Lock Haven University, earned his master’s degree from St. Bonaventure University and spent 30 years teaching at North Pocono School District.
He was a proud grandpa who never missed an opportunity to attend sporting events, dance recitals, concerts, graduations and anything they were involved in. He adored them and will be greatly missed.
In addition to his wife Marie, Barry is survived by his children: Lisa Olenchak and her husband Michael of Roaring Brook Twp. and John Harwick and his wife Rebecca of Fort Washington; his grandchildren, who will miss him greatly: Elizabeth & Emily Olenchak and Grace & Olivia Harwick and his nieces and nephew.
There will be a visitation on Friday, April 24, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Brian Arthur Strauch Funeral Homes & Cremation Services, LLC, 3 First St. in Spring Brook Twp.
