ALLENTOWN, Pa. — Allentown’s former human resources director is suing the city.
Nadeem Shahzad alleges in a lawsuit filed Monday that he was forced out of his position in 2023 after he refused to fire an employee that Mayor Matt Tuerk had asked him to terminate.
Shahzad maintains that employee had brought up issues of racial discrimination and should not have been fired.
Shahzad’s suit claims he was the victim of illegal retaliation and discrimination.
