SCRANTON, LACKAWANNA CO. (WOLF) — Drivers in Scranton should expect traffic changes starting next week as a bridge rehabilitation project gets underway on West Linden Street.

PennDOT officials say work will begin Monday, April 27, 2026, along West Linden Street (Route 3020). As part of the project, eastbound traffic heading into the city will be detoured, while westbound traffic will continue to move through the area.

Under the detour plan, motorists traveling east on West Linden Street will be directed to turn left onto North 7th Avenue, then left onto West Lackawanna Avenue, followed by a left onto Franklin Avenue, before reconnecting with Linden Street.

Drivers are encouraged to allow extra travel time and follow posted signage while the work is underway. No timeline has been announced for when the project is expected to be completed.
