Annual soccer games: The annual 2026 UNICO Soccer Cup will be held Sunday at Spartan Stadium, Mid Valley Secondary Center in Throop. This annual tradition matches up the finest senior athletes in Lackawanna for one final soccer game of their high school careers. The girls game begins at noon and the boys game will follow 30 minutes after the conclusion of the girls game. This year the American Cancer Society is partnering with UNICO Scranton as part of the Soccer Cup. As part of this parternship, the most valuable player awards for the girls and boys games will be named in memory after Melanie Naro, longtime chair and past president of the UNICO Scranton Chapter. Admission is $5/person.

Caterpillar showing: Screening of “The Extraordinary Caterpillar,” an engaging one-hour documentary exploring the vital role caterpillars play in supporting healthy ecosystems, Monday, 5:30-7 p.m., Wayne County Extension Office, Park Street Complex, 648 Park St., Suite E, Honesdale. Following the film, Penn State Master Gardeners will share practical guidance on inviting pollinators into your landscape, incorporating key native plants that sustain caterpillars and creating a certified pollinator garden.
