U. MILFORD TWP., Pa. – Looking for the latest artistic endeavors that are local? Or maybe just some inspiration to re-decorate your home?
Well, look no further than the Society of the Arts show house. 18 rooms, decorated by 18 different designers. The rooms have different themes that can also connect.

The show house is in a more than 100-year-old farmhouse that was redecorated.
SOTA House Chair Diane McConnell said the owner of the building was on the Allentown Art Museum board. The Society of the Arts supports the museum through service and fundraising events.
She said the Upper Milford Township building owner was kind enough to give the nonprofit his home to redecorate so people can come through, see the beautiful rooms, and raise money for the arts museum.
The Upper Milford Township home is the nonprofit’s 18th show house. SOTA, which now has about 200 volunteers, has been around for 62 years, McConnell said.
A ribbon cutting for the event is being held Friday. The event begins May 2. To get tickets, you can go to sotapa.org/events. You can also buy tickets at the door.
Shelbie Bemis, Senior Interior Designer with Stonewood Interiors in Allentown, said she designed the dining room around a pink chandelier. She said the room was designed to be whimsical, fun, colorful, bright, and cheery. As a juxtaposition, she designed the lounge to have a dark and moody feel.
She said she wanted to create a contrast between the two spaces that open to each other but also separate at the same time.
Wandra Cain with WCA Interiors said she created an outdoor balcony room area outside the house designed to be relaxing.
Shoshana Gosselin with Love Your Room, who designed the house’s bathroom, said that since many of the room’s fixtures were from the 1920’s, the room was made to reflect an abstract 1920’s theme.
