One of the biggest questions about Pittsburgh hosting the 2026 NFL Draft was how people would get to the city.Despite a reported 320,000 people showing up for the first round, the reviews of Pittsburgh Regional Transit’s free transportation have been positive.“It was very easy to navigate,” said Melissa Steele, who took the bus on Thursday and Friday. “We took the bus from Monroeville. It drops you right off down at the square. You get off the bus and walk right over to the event.”Each shuttle starts at a different park and ride location around the city and ends up on Federal Street by PNC Park. Every shuttle arrives at its locations within 15 minutes of one another. “I had very minimal wait times,” Steele said. “They navigated the city very well. On the way there, it took about 45 minutes in the morning. On the way back, it was about 30 minutes. They had plenty of people out there volunteering and directing. I was very impressed.” Steele said she heard that same sentiment throughout the day on Thursday. “I talked to a lot of people from New York down to North Carolina,” she said. “They all talked about how easy it is to navigate.”Francis Hodge heard the same thing heading into Friday. “I heard so many good things about it yesterday,” he said. “So, I wanted to try it for myself.” He, like many local residents, had hesitations about the system. “I didn’t want to get caught in the traffic because sometimes the gridlock around here is crazy,” he said. “I was also really worried about paying for parking down there. So, when we found out that there was this shuttle, I thought that was the best way to do it.”Visitors from out of town thought the same thing. “It was so easy and so quick,” said Jay Kranchalk, a Steelers fan from North Carolina. “You’ll always be concerned when you’re stepping into something new.
